website
A floor plan at the beginning of the exhibition gives the visitor a good overview of the exhibition.
user experience
Air balloons, which indicate the consumption of the respective website by their size, make the topic accessible and understandable for the layman.
simplified representations
The main goal of the exhibition is to make
the complex topic of digital data consumption easily understandable. In this graphic, the size of the square shows the average consumption
of a constant on the website.

An interactive animation shows in a simple way the difference between different image formats and their average data consumption on a website.
interactive animation
Analog elements have been deliberately used to explain file compression in this exhibit. When the car moves, an explanation of compression is played to illustrate the theory.
combining analog and digital
This exhibit is about the different data consumption of fonts. The user taps on a tablet to select a font, and at the same time a web page is projected that uses only that font. The difference between web fonts and system fonts is also discussed.
multimedia application
next project
This exhibit deals with the difference between custom code and code libraries. Again, analog and digital elements have been combined to make the subject more understandable.
visual representations
At the end of the exhibition, visitors have the opportunity to generate their own balloon using the data they have collected from the various exhibits. On the website, you can log in with your visitor number and easily download the guides you want.

in retrospect
01 First understand the topic, then design and create!
This project has taught me how important it is to understand a subject before you start with the concept and later the design. Even though it may sound obvious, this point became very clear to me during this project.
02 Everyone can improve their digital footprint by making small changes
This project was the first time I realized how much data can be saved if you make the right decisions and adjust your workflow as little as possible. This project allowed me to expand my knowledge of digital data consumption enormously. I will apply what I learned to my next project!
